Marine Service GmbH is a family-owned company founded in 1958 by Dr. Karl‑Heinz Krämer and has been led since 2017 by Christian Krämer in its third generation. Today, the company ranks among the leading engineering and consulting partners in the maritime industry.
Since the 1960s, Marine Service has been an established partner of the international gas industry. With significant involvement in more than 100 LNG carriers and global projects for floating and onshore LNG terminals as well as FSRUs, the company covers the full spectrum of services, from basic design and plan approval to construction supervision.
In marine consulting, Marine Service manages complex projects for a wide range of vessel types, including naval applications, consistently meeting the highest standards in safety, reliability and system integration.
A key focus is “LNG as Fuel”: Marine Service develops tailor-made LNG Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS) for cruise ships, ferries, and specialized vessels. Since the first implementation for AIDAnova in 2018, numerous additional projects have been successfully delivered. Services span the entire lifecycle – from concept and engineering to commissioning, crew training, and after-sales support.
Marine Service is also a trusted partner in the offshore wind industry, particularly for HVDC converter platforms, offering comprehensive engineering services ranging from specification and risk assessment to construction supervision.
With decades of experience and strong innovative capabilities, Marine Service actively drives the transformation of maritime energy systems.
